Herman leads the Hermits on stage.

A cheeky grin, and a rash of hit songs that make you wonder at first, but who else could it be, but Herman of Herman's Hermits. The singer who has mothers crooning over him, because they think of the boy-next-door bit, and the singer who has the teenage girls screaming for him. Yes, that's Herman. A distinctive face, and one that has over the last year become exceedingly popular. With his first records like "I'm Into Something Good" and "Show Me Girl", Herman has become yet another of Britain's hottest exports. A group who are worth a great deal in money and talent.
Young, good-looking, and undoubtedly a star of the years to come, Herman is definitely the face of the year. Everyone you mention Herman to, nearly always responds by saying, "Oh the young good-looker." He has that sort of look that tells you he's not only a nice guy but the sort of guy it's terribly easy to make friends with.
I spoke to Herman not long ago and asked him what his ambitions were. "I'd like to have more hit records, make some good films, do everything and make sure that everything I do looks good to the public. I'm very anxious to become a star, not just in the pop sense, but every sense."
Not a bad ambition and one I'm sure that Herman will try and achieve before this year is out. Certainly he has the chances to make good. Singing-wise he has already got off to a good start and unless I'm mistaken he could break into TV plays and films with ease once someone digs up a good story for him. He has the added advantage of knowing that his records sell abroad just as well as they sell in this country.
Said a friend of mine, who is well-known in show-business for tipping stars of the future: "I'm already watching him because, believe it or not, this guy could become the star of the year!!
