Herman Tops The Beatles

After 3 weeks at the number one spot in the Top Pops Chart, the Beatles have finally been toppled by Manchester's Herman and the Hermits with their record "My Sentimental Friend." The record hit the top spot after climbing from number 5 in the charts.
This should prove a great encouragement to Herman and Co. after their tour last Easter with the Love Affair, during which the expected sell-outs failed to materialise.
Hot on the heels of this number one in Britain, Herman and His Hermits are embarking
on a world wide tour in June. They will visit Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jerusalem, Bethsheba, and from there will fly to the Phillipines where, like the Beatles before them, they will appear in the Araneta Stadium in Manila.
Their tour continues with a flight to Sydney, where they have been booked for 3 weeks at the top night club "The Chequers." In July they go to Mexico City for an eight-day appearance at the Hotel Caminoreal. Subsequent details were unconfirmed at press time.
