PETER NOONE'S first official single without Herman's Hermits is out next month. And the move confirms the exclusive forecast in Disc over a year ago that the partnership was being wound up.
Mickie Most said this week: "The Hermits are going to sound very different. And they're going to add a pianist/vocalist to the line-up. What they need is someone like Alan Price."
Disc understands that one of the people being considered for the job is Vic Cooper, formerly with the Toomorrow group.
The Hermits will continue recording under Mickie's production.
Peter Noone's new single is the David Bowie song "Oh You Pretty Things," released mid-April. And Most tips it as a million-seller. It will be advertised in the huge Trafalgar Square showcase used to promote the Stephen Stills LP.
