HERMAN, complete with Hermits, has been busying himself round the film studios lately.
The boys made their picture debut with someone who's been a top pop for over five years, Connie Francis. It's the latest in a long line of Connie-meets-the-boys films, and it's called When The Boys Meet The Girls. Made in Hollywood at M.G.M.'s vast studios.
"It was great," Herman told me. "We sang a few songs, and met Sam The Sham and The Pharaohs who are in the film as well. But wait till you see this other film we've been doing. It's called there's No Place Like Space. We started filming it on the 15th September with Danny Kaye. It's like this . . . there's this space ship at a rocket station and it's called Herman's Hermits. The government don't like this, and they try to get the name changed, and that's when all the fun starts.
Ah well, watch this space, folks!
