The Herman's Hermits' new film, Mrs. Brown You've got A Lovely Daughter (MGM), swings like their native England. The Hermits - Herman (Peter Noone), Barry, Keith, Karl and Derek - play members of a promising pop group who leave their homes in Manchester for the more lively life of London. There they meet the Browns and, of course, the lovely daughter (Sarah Caldwell). Mr. Brown is played by Stanley Holloway, Eliza Doolittle's father in My Fair Lady. The film's trouble is that it would have you believe that fashion models and mod-photographers are the only groovy people. But the potpurri of songs in the Hermits' soft-rock style and their hilarious escapades make up for any weaknesses of the script. Color.
