It had to happen eventually, what with the Beatles' M.B.E.'s and Pop Royal Command performances! And now it has; the Shah of Persia has extended a personal invitation to Herman's Hermits to groove at his coronation! All the pomp and glory and ceremony of the crowning next month at Teheran will explode into a swinging scene if the Hermits accept the invitation. On October 23, they would fly to Persia and stay for five days at the Royal Palace. The Hermits will have to postpone plans for a holiday if they decide to take up the |
offer. But for a chance to guest at the Shah's palace, and at a coronation, what would you do? Herman and the boys are back in England at the moment, finalising their latest film, "Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter". Their extended Stateside tour finished triumphantly not long ago, and they are booked for a Latin-American tour in several months. Before that comes off, they will be engaged in radio and TV appearances timed with the release of their next single early in November. |
