WHEN you wish upon a star, you hope your wishes come true. But when you are a star, the story is slightly different. You may still have wishes, lots of them, in fact, but they won't be ordinary ones. Stars, like Herman, have special kinds of wishes ... because, very often, they're a special kind of person. Here are a few of Herman's wishes ... and why. Herman wishes he could find a nice girl ![]() Herman hopes he wins this roulette game! |
and settle down. After all, Karl's married, Keith's married, Barry's married and Lek's engaged. That leaves Herman - the last lonely bachelor of the group. It isn't that he's trying to rush into marriage, but ... well, a guy does feel a little left out of things. Herman wishes he didn't have to worry about money. It may sound strange, but very often, the more money you have the more money problems you have. Herm wonders if he's spending too much, if he's being too extravagant, if he's investing wisely enough, if his taxes are going to be too high, etc., etc. No, he doesn't want to give his money up. He's just wishing it didn't bother him so much to have it. Herman wishes he were taller. It's not that he thinks he's too short. It's just that he'd like to be taller - if he could, which he can't. (It's a little confusing, but we hope you get the idea.) Herman wishes he could play more instruments. If he really applied himself, undoubtedly he could learn to play all sorts of things. But he just doesn't have the time nor the patience to practice as hard as he'd have to. Herman may be wishing for a few tiny changes, but he's not about to change himself completely. He's happy enough being Herman. Wouldn't you be? |
