The Hermits' Love-Nest!

There's a twinkle in their eyes and a smile on their faces. It's a sure bet
The Hermits are bursting with exciting news!

TO what secret, romantic love-nest would the Hermits take their very special "birds" (meaning their very special wives)? What would this heavenly hide-away be like? And what special things would it contain? These were the questions we asked The Hermits when we spoke to them not too long ago.
Since all the boys are individuals in their own right, with certain tastes and preferences, they all had different ideas as to what their love-nest should be like. Their answers were full of surprises - and they're sure to surprise you!
"The first equipment for my love-nest," Keith said, leaning his head against the back of the couch, "is that it should be in some isolated part of the world, far away from everyone else."
He smiled and his deep blue eyes lit up. "Maybe on top of a hill, over-looking a beautiful valley," he added. "That way I'd be sure to be alone with my girl!" he said, giving his mates a sly look.
Herm chuckled. "We always knew you liked the peaceful life, but this is ridiculous! As for me, I'll take a big house filled to the brim with laughing, happy people. I'm sure my wife would want it that way too!"
"Something tells me, Keith doesn't want us around," teased Karl.
"Something tells me you're right," Keith answered back.
But Keith had more to say about his love-nest. And he wasn't going to let his joking friends stop him!
"My wife had better like horror movies," he went on, "cause I intend to have a special room set aside where I can watch them whenever I want - and that's pretty often, I have to admit!"
Barry interrupted. "The next thing you'll want is a special room for your button collection!" he said sarcastically.
"Now that you mention it," Keith said, "that's a great idea. And I think I'll have the room painted in my fav color - burgundy!"
Herm popped a life-saver into his mouth. "That's not a love-nest, that's a horror-house," he quipped. "If it were my little nest, I'd paint the whole house in blue - all different shades of blue! It's such a happy color and I love to see 'happy things'!"
Herm paused for a moment and then continued.
"And I'd also make sure there was fun a-plenty in my love-nest. I'd have complete stereo equipment, a game room with a billiard table and things, a big garden outside with a hammock - lots of fun things like that."
"Very well said, Herm, old man," Lek agreed, nodding his head. "I'm with you on that color

scheme. But I think I'd also have travel posters covering the walls!"
You see, Lek loves to travel and likes to be reminded of the wonderful places he's visited and the places he hasn't seen yet.
"And of course," he added, "there's no question that everything has to be neat and tidy and in its place at all times. My wife will see to that, though."
"Of course!" laughed karl. "But as for me, I won't ask for too much. Just give me a grand palace with a huge soda fountain so I can have all the soft drinks I want. Stick my wife by my side and I'll have a love-nest that'll keep me happy for the rest of my life!"
"Leave it to Karl to think up something like that," Barry said, kiddingly.
"Think you can do any better, Bean?" Karl answered back. (Barry is often called "Bean" by the rest of the boys - for no obvious reason.)
Barry stared straight at Karl. "I think I can," he said. "At least my love-nest is a bit more sane!"
"this I've got to hear," grinned Herm, settling back to listen to Barry's description.
"Well, for one thing," Barry began,"my love-nest will be more of a 'love-cave'. In fact, it will be a cave! A nice big roomy cave. And I have just the one in mind. I found it the last time I went caving."
Exploring caves is Barry's hobby. And he does it whenever he can. So it doesn't seem too strange that he'd want his love-nest to be a cave. But that wasn't all Barry had to say about his "love-cave".
"I'd furnish the cave with pillows - big, fluffly red pillows and paintings of boats and cars on the walls!"
"And he said his love-nest is sane," teased Karl, putting his hand to his cheek in an "I-don't-believe-it" manner!
"Come on, you guys," said Herm, helplessly. "Let's get together on this love-nest.
Herm and the boys then began to put all their ideas into the creation of one big love-nest.
"The way it stands," Herm said, "we'll need a grand palace, high atop a mountain that's underground. It's going to be decorated in all blue and all burgundy with travel posters and pictures of boats and cars. It's got to be peaceful, yet filled with loads of people having fun. And it must have at least seventy-five rooms, to make us all happy, pillows and soda fountains and of course, our wives!"
"It shouldn't be too difficult to find a love-nest like that," laughed Lek. "If we look for it on another planet!"
You just might have to, at that, fellas! Happy looking!
