Those English lads from Newcastle and Manchester romped through America as if it were their own - and for a while it was! For the first time two top British groups toured together, each representing an entirely different kind of music and appeal, each great in it's own right. Herman and his four Hermits were, as always, delightful. The Animals, one of the foremost soul-blues groups going, gave out with some of the best, low-down gutsy tunes they've made famous. Eric Burdon has got to be one of the wildest. American teenagers owe a vote of thanks to whomever thought up this combination tour idea. It gave us the best of two musical types for the price of one admission - and we hope they make it a way of life for future tours! |
