Leaving The Hermits Behind
Peter Noone is branching out on his own lately.

Peter Noone (Herman) isn't really deserting the Hermits, of course. But he has taken to trying his wings as a solo performer. He will star in an ABC special in which he both sings and acts. The other Hermits don't begrudge Herman his outside work a bit. Instead, they are proud of him. Besides, he has no intention of giving up recording with the group, at least not for a long time to come. Like the Beatles' John Lennon, he simply wants the best of   both possible worlds. "It's on my own," Peter explains. "I have a whole future to prepare for, and sooner or later the test would be bound to come. I just felt it would be best all around if I started sooner." In short, rock and roll singing is great if you're a kid, but eventually the image has to be changed. We're sure Peter can do the job, and do it very well.
