HERMAN'S HERMITS return to America next month to star in an MGM film. Their new disc is released on August 20 and Herman is set for a "Juke Box Jury" appearance. Herman is currently filming in the U.S. "Girl Crazy" features them in a guest spot with Connie Francis and Bobby Darin also appearing. They arrive in England on August 18 and two days later, their new single "A Little Bit Better", an American number, is issued by Columbia. Lined up for the group are BBC-1's "Top Of The Pops" (August 19), Rediffusion's "Ready Steady Go" (20), BBC-Light's "Beat Show" (26), TWW's "Discs A Gogo" (30), ABC's "Lucky Stars" (October 4) and BBC-Light's "Saturday Club" (11). Herman's "Jury" panel appearance is August 21 and the group guest on a Light programme pop show on Bank Holiday Monday (30). They fly back to America on September 14 and begin shooting their first major film featuring themselves as the stars. Sam Katzman will produce the colour musical. |
