AFTER THE SHOW
The show is over,
It's time for bed.
But the beautiful sound
Won't leave my head.
I saw Herman's Hermits,
They gave a good show.
But before I knew
It was time to go.

UNTIL I'M 64
I've written you,
I've talked to you,
I gave you
Our city's key.
And yet I can't
Help knowing
That you don't
Remember me.
I've written you,
I've talked to you,
Oh Peter, such a doll!
I touched your hand,
You said to me
"Hi luv," and
That was all.
I gave to you,
Our city's key.
But that was
Just a start.
For now, a
Full year later,
I give to you
My heart.
And yet, I
Can't help knowing
That you
Won't understand
How much that hello
Meant to me -
To smile,
To touch your hand.
I reminisce
That happy day
But it's through
Tears I see
Your boyish face,
'Cause you now know
You don't
Remember me.

HERMAN MARCHES ON
Herman is the groovy leader
There could be nobody neater
He may complain that his feet hurt
But wouldn't you if you had to work all day?

            W. Collingwood Hts., N.J.

INTO SOMETHING GOOD
I love Herman, oh yes I do.
With his dull brown hair and eyes of blue.
I'd wait for him, though it was a bore
Until he finally opened the door.
            S.S.
            Hicksville, Ohio

A POEM ABOUT HIM
Sunshine and lollipops
Cotton candy -
Herman, the indefatigable clown
Laughing,
Rollicking into unsure melody,
Brightly partaking
Of the life that warms the young blood
In his veins.
Striding cheerfully to greet the golden dawn
With softly cascading yellow
Waves in the breeze
And sea-blue saucers reflecting excitement
In rosy cheeks,
Mrs. Brown's lovely daughter
Serenaded
As the wistful expression creeps in.
Pete -
Still young, still chasing rainbows.

GUESS WHO
There was a boy from Manchester
Who had a crooked tooth
One day he gave a funny grin
And someone knocked it looth!

TERSE VERSE
Peter, or Herman, as he's known . . .
Oh, how I wish he were my own.

            Hoboken, N.J.

TRIBUTE TO HERMAN
Blue is the color of my true love's eyes ...
They'll stay the same way till the day he dies.
Blonde is the color of my true love's hair,
Some call it brown but it really is fair.

When I go to England one of these days,
I'll get to see my idol by one of my clever ways,
When I see him I'll just gaze ...
I hope he'll kiss me to break the haze.
            Kathi Tones
            Detroit, Mich.

HERMAN FOREVER
Everyone loves him,
His name is Herman.
He's got the best group
Under the sun!
There's Barry and Lek,
Keith and Karl, too.
Groups like theirs
Are very few!
            Glenda Houston

KNOWN AS THE PRICE YOU PAY
Peter Blair Dennie Noone
is standing in the moonlight
He's waiting and waiting for someone,
But I know not who.
A figure appears
With a long, white dress and yellow hair.
A smile spreads over his face
As he moves toward this figure of grace.
She glides toward him
And Peter's smile turns into a grin.
They meet, he draws her close,
His heart beats faster
As she looks into his eyes.
He closes his eyes and starts to kiss her ...
Suddenly she says "May I have your autograph Herman?"
            Martha Sullivan
            Bells, Tenn.
