Mister Noone may not have the best voice in the world, but when it comes to projecting charm, and tuneful, cheeky charm at that, he's near the top of the tree.
For all the fans of the George Formby of the 'sixties, then here's a pretty, lyrical album with the best of his recent hits, together with some of Herman's lesser-known material. A good collection, parts of which serve as recent pop history.

HERMAN'S a happy lad. And like all happy people, he has an expressive face. Expressive enough to capture the cameraman as well as the fans. "Top Of The Pops" photographer Harry Goodwin caught these studies of Herman on radio's new "Pop North" series. Says Goodwin: "Some people say Herman's a big-head, but I've always found him most co-operative." That's one reason why these pictures are so good!

Herman tells me his dart-playing has come on a mile recently. His folks now live in a Kent village - and Herman digs going into the local and playing darts whenever he's down that way.
"There's just one dodge I have to watch for," he says. "If I happen to be in the lead, sometimes the opposition will send up someone to ask for my autograph just as I'm aiming for the double top. Once it put me off so much I missed not only the double top but the whole blinkin' board - and the dart landed in somebody's beer!"
