As you can imagine, a bloke like Herman spends a lot of time travelling. These pics were taken down by the docks, but he also spends quite some time on trains. He has mixed thoughts about these ...     "There's no finer sight," he says, "than a train going full pelt through the countryside, BUT I hate travelling in a railway compartment. If you want to stay awake and read, someone's bound to start talking to you, and if you go to sleep they fall over you as they go to open the window.     However, he loves travelling by sleeper.     "You're in this cute little cubby-hole away from the world," he says. "The rhythm of the train sends you to sleep - or, at least, it does to me. I often want to catch up on sleep during the day, but once when I had to make a journey in the daytime, and I asked if I could have a sleeper, they looked at me like I was mad!"
