STANLEY FAIRCLOUGH

Peter Noone
Len Fairclough's son (1961), Noone later became famous as Herman of Herman's Hermits. I'm Into Something Good was his first hit record.

When in Japan...

Herman was telling me that he likes to take the occasional meal sitting cross-legged on the floor. Sounds crazy, but he went on to explain why.
We ate this way when we did a tour of Japan - and I found it very relaxing. Also - it helps me to get a bit of practice with chopsticks, and if I ever visit Japan again, I'd like to be able to use them all expert like."
That sounded O.K. "But why,"I asked, "do you need to sit on the floor to use chopsticks?"
"If I use them sitting at the table, I keep dropping the flipping things and wear myself out diving down on the floor after them!"
