THREE new British records enter next week's "Hot Hundred," published by "Billboard" (cables Nat Hentoff).
They are - Herman's Hermits' "Listen People," which leaps in at 41, the Fortunes' "This Golden Ring," at 93, and Tom Jones' "Promise Her Anything" at 95.
Petula Clark's "My Love" slips from the top position to No. 4.
Going up the chart are - previous positions in brackets - Dave Clark's "At The Scene" 24 (43), The Walker Brothers' "My Ship Is coming In" 63 (71), Peter and Gordon's "woman" 61 (83) and the Searchers' "Take Me For What I'm Worth" 77 (78). David and Jonathan's "Michelle" remains at 18.

Herman's Hermits are due to complete work on their "Mrs. Brown" film on July 10 - two days before flying to America at the outset of their lengthy ten-week tour. Their new single "Museum," written by Donovan is now set for release next Friday (7th).
The group is filming an inset for BBC-1's "Top of The Pops" to be screened on Thursday, July 13. Herman's agent Danny Betesh is currently setting up a Far East tour for the Hermits in November. The group will holiday throughout October.

Bet Yer Life I Do (Rak): I have never really been endeared to reggae. But having found myself quite happily leaping to the Beatles "Ob La Di," and now happily being a lunatic about this, I suspect I must be one of those snobs who only likes the sound when it's all smoothed up and tied in production ribbon.
I simply rave about this record. Well, really. It's driving me mad. But it's commercial, instantly catching, so what can I do?
It's very clever. Very nice melody. Strong reggae pace. Very nice, close vocals (it hardly sounds like Herman) and I expected a steel band at any moment. Instead Mickie Most comes in with unexpected strings.
