HERMAN'S HERMITS fly to Manila for a tour following their one-night itinerary starting at the ABC, Dover, tonight (Thursday).
The current British tour ends in Edinburgh on April 20. Also on the bill with Herman are Mindbenders, Dave Berry and Pinkerton's Assorted Colours.
The far East trip may take in Hong Kong and Japan. Herman again tours America from July 1, when he opens in Hololulu. The trip should last three weeks.
This week, Herman's "Leaning On A Lamp Post" - a re-make of the old George Formby comedy song - entered "Billboard's" Hot 100 in America. The song is featured in Herman's film, "Hold On."

HERMAN had a rush flight to America by three planes on Friday after finishing filming "The Canterville Ghost" early that morning.
He flew from Rochester to London Airport by private plane, took a jet to Toronto, Canada, and another to Ohio, where he appeared with comedian Bob Hope at the State Fair.
Herman also appears on the Ed Sullivan and Hollywood Palace TV Shows before returning here in a fortnight.
Meanwhile he is looking for a flat to buy in London's Regent's Park area and plans to buy his father a house in Switzerland.

DAVE BERRY and the Cruisers and David and Jonathan have been added to the Herman's Hermits - Mindbenders - Pinkerton's tour, details fo which were exclusively announced in last week's NME.
Promoter Danny Betesh tried to secure the Four Seasons as a guest attraction, but the American group was unable to relinquish its committments in the U.S.
Final two venues in the tour's itinerary are the two Scottish dates - Glasgow Odean (April 19) and Edinburgh ABC (20th).

MILLIONAIRE record producer Mickie Most - hits for Herman, Donovan and Lulu - is the subject of the new BBC-2 colour documentary series, "The Millionaires," which starts screening next Thursday, August 15. First show will feature Mickie working in the studio with many of his artists.

Herman's Hermits star in Rediffusion's "Five O'Clock Club" next Tuesday (5th), and are joined by Arthur Alexander and Antoinette. Dusty Springfield and Mister Murray are set for next Friday's edition (8th).
Joe Brown makes four consecutive appearances as guest compere starting April 12. He replaces Gerry Marsden.

ERIC BURDON:

"I never did dislike Herman as a person. It's his music I dislike. Not my type.
He's matured a lot since his first trip to America.
He must be able to take a joke because he didn't complain when we smashed up his home in Hollywood. Hell of a lot of damage!"
