Herman was combining his part in the American TV film "The Canterville Ghost," in which he co-starts with Michael Redgrave and Douglas Fairbanks Jr., with recording a new single this week for release in late September.
Herman finishes work on the film next Wednesday and flies back to America for several TV and one-nighters, including the Ed Sullivan Show (September 18), before returning to Britain, but there are no present plans for an autumn tour here.

NO Milk Today (Parlophone)
- Written by Graham Gouldman this has more than just a vague Hollies touch to it.
Super clever words about the fact that he doesn't want any milk being tied up with losing his girlfriend. Someone has worked hard on the arrangement to give Herman his first really mature-sounding record for ages. And his best. Big hit.

HERMAN

HERMAN has done well in the States. They like his young, cheeky personality, and think he is a Cockney lad. They're a bit 'way out there, since he comes from Manchester! But he is a lad, isn't he?

HERMAN'S HERMITS are due to go to America again about June 6 for a guest spot in the "Ed Sullivan Show," and are set for a further transatlantic trip on July 22, during which one of their engagements will be at the famour Steel Pier in Atlantic City.
